The mansion is being renovated as of May 2012, and it sits just behind railroad tracks off Main Street in the heart of Amsterdam.  The Mohawk River’s Lock 11 is directly behind the property.

    I’d like to know the “rest of the story” – Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were first cousins. And although the marker lists Mrs. Johnson as “Molly” – my supporting research shows her name was either Mary or Polly. Curious…..
