What was there
The home of Matthew Vassar – brewer, merchant, and founder of Vassar College. The current Italianate structure replaced his home and was completed in 1880 to provide housing for men who were aged 65 or older, Protestant and residents of New York State.
What is there now
The Italianate 1880’s structure still exists and is home to the Dutchess County Arts Council.
